Amy is a highly motivated individual who strives for excellence in both her personal and professional lives. She graduated from Aquinas College in Grand Rapids, Michigan, with a Bachelor of Arts in Psychology and a concentration in Human Resource Management. During her time at Aquinas, Amy was able to gain the knowledge, dedication, and determination necessary for her to excel in a business environment. She also found the true meaning of being an active participant in the community and what it means to give back while at Aquinas.
Prior to graduating, Amy completed two internships in Grand Rapids and Chicago as a Human Resources Assistant, where she helped with all aspects of the Human Resources Department. This is where she found her passion for recruiting and finding qualified professionals to meet the client needs and requirements. During college, Amy also gained two years of experience as a sales/marketing representative for a family-owned business, where she developed a rapport with clients and customers.
Currently, Amy is a Co-Owner at Management Business Solutions. Amy started her journey at MBS in February 2009 as a part-time recruiting assistant working 20 hours a week during the economic downturn. This did not deter her from pursuing her goals; she fast-tracked during her first year to a lead recruiter role and also started pursuing a unique opportunity to be part of the 5-Year Employee Ownership Plan. Amy immediately took this opportunity to heart and knew this commitment would take hard work, dedication, and countless hours learning the business. Within these last few years, Amy has been able to build a successful team of committed recruiters, develop a thriving internship program, and gain the trust of long-lasting repeat clients. As of February 2014, this journey has brought Amy to her goal of officially being a part-owner of MBS. She looks forward to growing the business and continuing to retain talent in West Michigan.
Amy is also very active in the Grand Rapids community and serves on many boards and committees. She is currently serving on the Aquinas College Career Services Advisory Board, Aquinas Alumni Leadership Council (Professional Development Chair), YMCA Spartan Stores (Past Board Chair), and The Maria Lida Foundation (Secretary). In addition, Amy volunteers with many local organizations including Our Community’s Children to help develop our youth for employment opportunities. In 2010, 2012, & 2018 Amy received the Grand Rapids Business Journal “40 Under 40” Award and was a nominee for the ATHENA Young Professional Award. Amy has also received the “50 Most Influential Women in West Michigan” Award through the Grand Rapids Business Journal.
